Bonnie Blair, Dan Jansen, Kathy Turner, and Apolo Anton Ohno all won Olympic gold medals in speed skating for the United States. American speed skaters have won more gold medals at the Winter Olympics than athletes from any other winter sport.
These skaters also share an origin story: each began at a local club. Through these communities, they trained, raced, and developed under dedicated coaches, before going National and ultimately Olympic.
Flushing Meadows Speed Skating Club is the only speedskating club in New York City and Long Island. We train a committed core group of young skaters and have a long history of athletes advancing to national-level competition, including the American Cup and World Cup circuits.
